Senior Project Manager, R&D

Erasca is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing medicines for the benefit of patients with cancer. Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP Portfolio & Program Management, the Senior Project Manager will support high-profile clinical and IND-enabling program teams through startup and execution of multiple innovative clinical studies, partner with Business Development to support clinical supply alliance partnerships, and manage portfolio level projects and tasks. The Sr PM will also play an important role in building a highly functioning Portfolio & Program Management (PPM) team at Erasca. 

Note that the position can be filled as Senior Project Manager or Principal Project Manager, depending on the experience of the candidate and the business need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Manage program timelines and deliverables to execute clinical development plan and support cross functional project team and Project Team Leader.
  • Serve as Program or Project Manager, supporting execution of program or project team strategy and development plans and establishing supporting documentation.
  • Support Business Development function in the execution and oversight of external partnerships and alliances related to the supply of clinical trial material.
  • Remain current with, understand, and report on clinical and non-clinical activities at team meetings; monitor sub-team leaders and sub-team activity, and assure timely completion of program or project commitments.
  • Support and help maintain a motivated high-performance program or project team, act as project liaison between Line Functions and Program Team Leader, and serve as program or project champion and advocate.  
  • Support the development of documented and standardized processes and structures to enable the rapid scaling of the Erasca portfolio; implement standard methodologies and ensure cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • With colleagues in PPM, identify, implement and drive adoption of best-in-class project management tools and processes to enable Erasca’s ambitious objectives. 
  • Perform all duties in keeping with the Company’s core values, policies and all applicable regulations. 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • 4 or more years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience, including experience supporting cross-functional drug development teams as project or program manager.
  • Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree in scientific field and/or business preferred.
  • PMP certification a plus. 
  • Oncology experience required.
  • Exposure to business development, alliance management, or other outward facing business activities in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry a plus 
  • Experience in IND-enabling translational work and early clinical development preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and oral and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to represent Erasca externally with alliance partners.
  • Track record of implementing project management tools, methodologies and practices. 
  • Intellectually curious, with a passion for science and patients.
